Sakura, princess of Clow, has an unusual experience when her friend Syaoran, a renowned archaeologist, has to rescue her when she finds herself growing ghostly wing. When the wings dissipate Yukito, Clow’s high priest, realises that the wings contained Sakura’s memories and soul, without which she will die. Unwilling to let this happen her friends set out on a quest, from world to world across the dimensions, to retrieve what she had lost... Book fourteen of Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle: If They Won’t Let us Borrow it... by the manga collective Clamp, finds our young questers still in the land of Recort where the books will record your whole history just by someone touching them. Recort, Record... get it? It’s simple when you think about it. The group quickly discovers that the feather is in one of the books, but this book is in the restricted part of the library. Furthermore it is guarded. I feel a crime caper coming on and a crime caper is just what we get. Having had the previous book spanning extravaganzas it felt like a bit of a rest to have a fairly straight forward story contained within a single volume. Looking at the two options, the single volume story suits the series better, especially as Clamp don’t appear to want to do anything too complex with the overall story arc. Extras are a bit short this time consisting of only the honorifics and the translation notes. 6 Charles Packer Buy this item online |
