Robert Wyatt’s work is set to have a bit of a renaissance with the reissue of much of his back catalogue, a reissue that is heralded with this release, from Domino, of 'This Summer Night' CD single, his collaboration with Bertrand Burgalat.

Wyatt’s work is very much down to individual taste, the former drummer of Soft Machine continues to produce works which are always interesting, with apparently no desire to compromise, Wyatt has created a very individual musical voice.

'This Summer Night' is a collaboration with the French auteur Burgalat, which evokes the sensual quality of its subject matter, dancing the night away, an approach which well suits Wyatt’s own lilting vocals. The second track 'This Summer Night (Hot Chip Mix)' deconstructs the song, reconstructing it with a more electro pop sensibility.

Overall its musical individuality marks it out as a Wyatt track.
