Lucifer Morningstar, one-time ruler of Hell, has quit. Fortunately,
Heaven has a job for him - save creation from the Voiceless
Gods. To aid him in his work he has been given a gateway that
leads to the Uncreated Void. But this ability to slice into
the fabric of existence brings with it unwanted attention.
Lucifer:
Children and Monsters is, hardly surprisingly, a dark
offering. It's also a bit of a slow starter - big on atmosphere,
minimal on progression. But this is a book well structured
and its initial faltering pace is a deliberate ploy - it acts
as a counterbalance to the mayhem that follows, nicely juxtapositioning
still moments with carnage.
Well
written and thoughtfully design, Lucifer: Children and Monsters
is strong stuff - in every sense.
