Star
Wars Tales: Volume 1 is one of those graphic novels that
you would take on holiday to dip in and out off when the weather
turns bad. This is great to pick up and flick through, but
the lack of any order will leave the casual reader with a
headache.
Two
stories that warrant special mention are the excellent Skippy
the Jedi Droid which spins a seemingly pointless event
in Star Wars IV and explains how the whole Jedi rebellion
could have been crushed if not for one plucky droid who appeared
only fleetingly in the movie. The other story is Stop that
Jawa which is a weirdly illustrated story following the
band from Jabba's palace.
An
average collection at best.
