Wallace faces skulduggery from a rival at a fishing competition.
What sinister mystery lies behind Albert Plunger's amazing
success with fish? And will Gromit and the newly invented
Tubmarine have to save the day?...
Catch
of the Day
is a very simplistic 41-page comic (with additional pages
introducing all your favourite characters) bound in hardback.
Whether the asking price reflects the quality is questionable,
but to be quite honest who cares. This is Wallace &
Gromit we're talking about and they have been absent for
so long that when you get a story worthy of the Wallace
& Gromit seal of approval who cares what the RRP is?
Yes,
the story is very simplistic (but then so have all of Aardman
animation's short movies featuring the two cheese lovers)
and the illustrations look like they've stepped straight out
of The Beano (Hey! There's nothing wrong with that)
but then this is a kid's book after all.
Albert
Plunger is nowhere near as memorable as Feathers McGraw or
Preston, but he makes a worthy addition to the Wallace
& Gromit universe - even if an eight year old can
tell that he is up to something from the first minute we see
him.
Wallace
& Gromit
fans will not be disappointed.
