A long time ago, in a decade that was far, far out there,
moviedom's most beloved characters made the transition from
silver screen to printed page in a comic-book series that
was truly out of this world...
Screams
in the Void collects issues 54-67 and Star Wars
Annual #2 of the original run. The stories depicted here take
place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return
of the Jedi with Lando Calrissian joining Luke, Leia,
Chewbacca, R2-D2 and C-3PO.
While
the artwork looks rather dated and the stories are a little
tame by modern standards, this collection will take many a
30-something back to the golden days of the comic market.
If, like me, you purchased these original comics after seeing
the movies then this collection will come as a bit of a nostalgia
trip. Sadly
I never kept my original copies and so reading these reprints
brought back a lot of memories.
Titan
have done a great job of reprinting these stories and this
is an ongoing series that any true Star Wars fan will
want to get their hands on.
This
is a collection for those of us who still run around the garden
with a lightsabre when we think no one is looking. Great stuff.
