University
student Sophie Bangs has become a living myth...
granted the power of the mystic warrior Promethea. Now she's
on a new adventure, exploring the magical higher levels of
the Immateria in search of old friends, and facing new perils...
Book
three in the Promethea series is a hell of a lot more
down to Earth than book 2. Sure, Alan Moore is still off on
another planet, but this time around you don't have to go
with him to appreciate what he is trying to achieve.
The
artwork is breathtaking in places and each page has been carefully
thought through. No dull, plain boxes for the main narrative
to thread itself onto the page. Oh, no! Here each page has
been designed to offer a little more eye candy than the one
before it - there is an interesting use of panels which have
been constructed to look like bubbles.
And
don't worry. If you are not highbrow enough to appreciate
the story, then you call always snigger at the main character's
name - Sophie Bangs... That's almost rude.
A
beautifully constructed book. If things carry on in this vein,
then Book 4 should be very interesting...
