Hellboy
investigates a hidden cellar and discovers his own uncanny
connection to the spirits within... a young boy leads friends
and family alike into an abandoned house from which no one
ever leaves... and an unprecedented fisticuffs ensures between
a world traveller and the ancient spirit of an English mansion...
These
ghostly stories and more await you within the pages of The
Dark Horse Book of Hauntings, a collection of original
short horror stories by an award-winning line-up of comics'
top talent.
Eight
uncanny tales of spirit manifestations, apparitions and otherworldly
horrors await the brave. Some stories retold as graphic novel
strips, others simply using the written word to send a shiver
down your spine.
The
first outing, Gone, takes something from everyone's
childhood and breathes new life into it. Everyone remembers
the local derelict haunted house. Well what if someone went
in on a dare and never came out?
Hellboy
fans will be pleased to see that the second story, Dr.
Carp's Experiment, features the horned red monster.
One
of the best segments is Spirit Rescue, which is an
interview with seance medium L. L. Dreller. At first appearance
this seems an odd inclusion, but it works really well and
adds that something extra to the collection as a whole.
It
might not give you a sleepless night, but this is a very impressive
collection of spooky stories.
