It's
time for Phantasmagorical fun with that cowardly cartoon canine
- Scooby-Doo! Join Scooby and his gang of sleuthing sidekicks
as they set off to uncover more monstrous mysteries, ghostly
goings-on and creepy crimes...
Scooby-Doo!
and the Creepy Cruise
is an odd title for this collection as none of the stories
feature a cruise.
The
artwork is pretty good - with all characters looking exactly
like their TV versions - except Vince Deporter's opening story
which offers a slightly personalised version of the Scooby
gang.
The
stories are your standard Mystery Inc. affair - with the ghost
being revealed at the end. However, I loved the way that the
writers had attempted to drag the stories into the 21st Century.
High School Ghoul, for example, has the team returning
to their old High School - where all the kids dress in trendy
gear. Sadly, Fred and the gang still dress as though they
have stepped out of the '60s.
The
jokes are as funny as the TV series ever was - yes, that bad
- but to be honest, this is a pretty good collection of stories.
The fact that this is a mini graphic novel also means that
it is ideal for the smaller reader.
