to Venus - Part 2 continues the adventures of Dan Dare.
This collection kicks off with an introduction by Monty Python's
Terry Jones. This is followed by a Who's Who in Dan Dare
and the first part of a lengthy interview with creator (the
late) Frank Hampson.
As
with the first collection, this book has all the hallmarks
of a quality collector's item. High quality paper and repro,
lovely bound hardback with a glossy dust jacket.
While
the presentation is first rate, it's the contents that are
what's really important. There was something with this collection
that seemed a little dated when compared to the previous instalment.
It's not that there was anything specific, just a general
outdated feel to everything.
This
is still a classic collection, and one that is well worth
buying. I just enjoyed the first collection a little more
than this one.
