A terrifying new threat (if you're a robot) has surfaced -
the Mecannibals. Autobot Pretenders Landmine and Cloudburst
are on the menu, and Decepticons Dreadwind and Darkwing are
looking to serve them up on a platter...
Last
Stand
sees the Transformers tales take a step up in the world.
In the past I've occasionally found some of these releases
a little monotonous. Page after page of robots duffing up
other robots can get a little tiresome. Okay, I know that
recent releases have started to be a little more than this,
but that's still the perceived image of a Transformers
tale.
Now
a new enemy has materialised - Mecannibals that feast on our
robot pals. How will the Transformers deal with this new threat
to their very existence?
There
also seems to be a lot more humour in this collection. Watch
out for the homage to Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope.
I
also loved The Interplanetary Wrestling Championship
story line - which adds a whole new dimension to the Transformers
universe. And the King Con! story takes a news spin
on the King Kong movie.
Whether
you are an oldie buying this for retro appeal, or a young
comics collection, there's something here for everyone.
One
of the best Transformer collections released to date.
