Inspired by the Cartoon Network's Clone Wars cartoons, this
new series uses the television show as a jumping-off point
to tell new stories of heroism and villainy in the same stripped-down
visual style...
My
personal favourite in this collection, and the one I thought
best illustrated what can be done with series, was A Stranger
in Town. This sees Master Yoda arriving in a strange town.
He's carrying an extremely large and heavy looking box much
to the amusement of the locals. But why has Yoda travelled
there? And why is he lugging around such a huge box? This
is a funny, and rather well conceived story.
The
other entertaining addition was The Package. This
has a Raiders of the Lost Ark feel to it (which
only becomes apparent once you've read the whole story and
digested it).
The
other two tales are a little dull - and I really had a problem
working out what was happening in Rogue's Gallery,
so goodness knows what young children will make of it.
If
you are a fan of the Toonami animated series, then you'll
probably want to snap these up - despite the fact that only
two of the tales told here are worthy of the Clone Wars
Adventures stamp.
