The
future... a violent place. In order to help keep law and order
the powers that be create a robot/human hybrid law enforcement
officer to ensure the streets are safe for everyone...
RoboCop
was launched back in 1987. Ultra violent and also satirical
this movie shot both the films director and star into the
Hollywood spotlight over night. The first movie is far and
away the best, the second movie is watchable and the third
is pretty poor.
The
extras here
allow the viewer to see Paul Verhoeven's original cuts of
the movie. There are also a number of deleted scenes, two
"making of" featurettes plus a new half-hour retrospective.
This
is a hit-and-miss DVD and will only really appeal to fans
of all three movies, personally I'd rather just have the first
movie and would quite happily pretend that the sequels never
happened.
Good
extras and a stunning 5.1 stereo treatment for the first movie,
nothing of any extra value and only a poor stereo mix for
the other discs.
Slightly
disappointing.
