In every human being there exists the genetic code for
mutation. The world is changing and man is evolving but the
time is coming when all that we are afraid of will be all
that can save us. Charles Xavier created the X-Men to encourage
harmony and good in the world but his old colleague, Magneto,
says that those he is trying to save will stab him in the
back. A war is about to begin, but who will win.
                  With
names such as Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, Rogue, Sabretooth,
Toad and Magneto how can you fail to notice that the characters
originate from a comic book. Bryan Singer's approach to this
film moves it away from the comic book genre and into something
more fantastic. The characters are brought from 2D to the
big screen in a superb and stunning way with each having a
story to tell. Singer does this very well.
                  Being
new to the X-Men I was taken aback at how un-comic like it
was. You become involved with the characters and absorbed
by the story of it all. It may even leave you wondering what
special powers you might like to have if it were at all possible.

                  Of
the many extras on this DVD most would only be watched once.
The two featurettes on the X-Men basically give the same information
and once you've watched one a feeling of 'De Ja Vu' may set
in as you view the second. I also felt the interview with
Bryan Singer could have been longer and not split into segments.

                  If
you're an old fan of the X-Men or a beginner this is a must
own DVD, appealing to kids and adults everywhere.
