The mystery begins when the evil Count Dracula transforms
Shaggy into a fuzz-faced werewolf - Zoinks! There's only one
way he'll change him back and that means Scooby-Doo and his
best friend winning a creepy cross-country race against a
hot-rodding horde of sinister celebrity monsters. Scooby-Doo
flees at the first sign of danger but with the promise of
Scooby Snacks, the cowardly canine joins the action. The question
is, will he be able to save the day this time?...
Scooby-Doo
and the Reluctant Werewolf is a horror version of Wacky
Races with Dracula taking the role of Dick Dastardly and
his henchmen taking on the Mutley role. And the racers all
have creepy cars - there is a mummy, a giant fly, skeleton,
Jekyll and Hyde and a pair of witches.
The
major downside here is that Scrappy-Doo appears, but thankfully
he's only in it briefly. Oh and another low point is the weak
sense of humour. An example: Dracula says: "I just want
to fang you for your visit." Or how about Shaggy: "Dracula,
what a mean guy. Something was always eating him." You
see what level we are stooping to here.
Things
that will make you laugh (if you have a childish sense of
humour like me) are the fact that the producer is called Berny
Wolf. And you might even laugh when Shaggy's new female companion
says: "Goodnight shag." Although she isn't posing
a question.
This
video comes with an additional video that includes a behind
the scenes, making of Scooby-Doo The Movie featurette.
OK,
so we are not talking about the height of comedy, but you
know where you are with Scooby-Doo. This will only
really appeal to kids under the age of 12. Anyone else will
get bored very quickly.
