Deep
in the heart of Africa, The Wild Thornberrys are filming their
action-packed wildlife show. They're ready for anything with
a fully-equipped, off-road vehicle and a daughter who has
a secret gift (she can talk to animals)... or are they? There
are greedy poachers lurking in the jungle and it's up to Eliza
to foil their evil plan. To do this, it will take all of her
courage, strength, and exceptional gifts. Can one small girl
save the jungle's majestic animals from grave danger?...
Taking
an animated cartoon series and giving it it's own movie is
usually a mistake. While the storylines can be sustained for
10 or even 20 minutes, dragging a movie out for just over
an hour can be tricky. Thankfully The
Wild Thornberrys Movie manages to hold a young audiences
attention for the duration, but only just.
We
watched this video with an assortment of children, most of
whom sat still for the duration. But the last 10 minutes were
very touch and go. If you've never seen a Wild Thornberrys
cartoon, then don't worry. Everything is explained to the
novice viewer and it is easy to pick up the back story.
The
story isn't too taxing - your sure to work out who the poachers
are way before they are revealed - and the animation is hardly
up to Disney's standards, but this is still enjoyable and
the script writers knew when to stop in order to keep small
minds from wandering.
This
video also includes the Paul Simon music video Father and
Daughter, which is included in the movie's soundtrack.
An
enjoyable hour's viewing, even though the RRP is a little
on the expensive side.
