Fire at Rig 15 is the typical, and rather dull, 'Mysterons
destroy something and Spectrums runs about' story. This time
it's an oil rig but it could just as easily be a submarine
base or high security installation which makes it hard to
care abut what's going on. Treble Cross, however, has
a more interesting plot premise - what happens when the Mysterons
fail to kill their subject - but it's still a little slow.
If
Treble Cross is slow then Flight 104 must qualify
as torpid. So little happens that it's a miracle the episode
lasts 25 minutes. However, the final episode on the tape,
Place of Angels, picks up the pace and although it's not
a great plot - a killer virus gets stolen - there's a reasonable
sense of tension and some sharp direction.
Great
picture, great sound, sadly average content.
