The Department Q series follows Inspectors Carl Mørck and Assad, two investigators whose job is to re-investigate cold cases whenever new evidence turns up. In The Absent One, the team uncovers the real murderers of twins who fell victim to a group of privileged kids testing their boundaries.

Johan Söderqvist, Uno Helmersson and Patrik Andrén's score for the second movie in the Department Q series, The Absent One, represents yet another impressive collaboration.

This score represents a whole new set of themes compared to the first score in the franchise, The Keeper of Lost Causes. If anything, this second release is a little more subtle and a touch more beautiful.

The album contains 16 tracks (40 min, 18 sec). 'Kimmie's Theme' represents this album's one stand out memorable and beautiful track. Other personal highlights include 'The Love Story'; 'Kiss and Rifle'; 'Carl and Kimmie'; 'The Informant' (which revisits the main theme from The Keeper of Lost Causes; and 'Kimmie's Theme (Reprise)'.

It's another impressive album that is well worth seeking out. There are plenty of beautiful themes and little moments that are well worth discovering.
