Lenore, the cute little dead girl, continues her crazy capers
- meeting the "toof hairy", going to a tea party
from the dark side, and impersonating bunnies. Plus more sad
ends for household pets, more disappointment for Mr Gosh,
and more death. Lots more death...
Wedgies
is
the latest Lenore graphic novel to star everyone's
favourite little dead girl.
I
have to be honest and say that while this collection was fun,
it was nowhere near as entertaining as the previous release
in this series, Noogies.
It could be that Lenore has a short life-span (no pun
intended) - after all there are only so many times that you
can laugh at her her accidentally killing a cute pet.
In
fact, I've got to admit that there wasn't one stand out story
in this collection that made me want to recommend this book.
At a push though, the Things Involving Me strips and
the tale where Leonre gets mistaken for the Fairy Queen are
pretty funny. However, the majority of these tales are predictable
and, more often than not, not that funny.
Yes
she looks cute, and yes Dirge's artwork in interesting, but
the gags seem to be variations on what has gone before.
I'd
only really recommend this collection to die-hard (again,
no pun intended) fans of the series, but even then I'd probably
advise flicking through it before you buy.
Not
what it could, or should, have been.
