31/08/11 - Clone Wars Vehicles book released
Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Incredible Vehicles is to be released through DK Books on 15 September.
After the successful third season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, now comes the definitive guide to all the vehicles featured in the programme.
The new crisis that the Clone Wars has brought to the galaxy requires that the Republic and the Separatist engineers develop new air, space and land craft. DK has produced, in collaboration with Lucasfilm, a detailed cross-section book, which looks inside the new fleet developed specifically for the Clone Wars.
This book provides cross-sections of eight of the vehicles from the hit TV series, giving readers the chance to discover how they all work by peeling away panels to learn about every aspect of each vehicle - such as the inner components, weapons systems and construction secrets. Readers will also learn about the roles of the different vehicles - from gigantic troop carriers to small stealth ships - and how these vehicles are developed to cope with the varied environments that they encounter on their travels from ice planets and tropical humid jungles to the perils of hyperspace.

25/08/11 - Missing Poirot stories come to CD
AudioGO is to release two missing Hercule Poirot stories, The Capture of Cerberus and The Incident of the Dog's Ball, on CD on 08 September.
In 2004, a remarkable archive was unearthed at Agatha Christie's family home, Greenway - dozens of her private notebooks, filled with pencilled jottings and ideas. Hidden within this literary treasure trove were two rare, never-before-published short stories, discovered by archivist John Curran and published in his book Agatha Christie's Secret Notebooks: Fifty Years of Mysteries in the Making.
This September you can enjoy listening to them both, with AudioGO's release of The Capture of Cerberus & The Incident of the Dog's Ball. Read by the definitive Hercule Poirot, David Suchet himself, it's an unmissable treat for Christie fans. And with September marking the 121st birthday of the Queen of Crime, what better way could there be to celebrate than curling up with these tales?
The Capture of Cerberus was originally intended to be the twelfth in Agatha Christie's collection of Poirot stories, The Labours of Hercules, but she eventually rewrote it, keeping only the title. In this first, original version, Hercule Poirot is holidaying in Geneva, trying to take his mind off the impending war. But a chance meeting with an old acquaintance leads to an investigation involving a Nazi dictator and an enormous hound...
The Incident of the Dog's Ball, probably written in 1933, was reworked as the novel Dumb Witness (1937) with an entirely different murderer and motive. In it, Hercule Poirot receives a letter from an elderly lady, written two months before and asking for help. Now she is dead, and Poirot is convinced that her beloved terrier Bob holds the key to her death...
